Marcy was born in "Nawlins", Louisiana and raised on red beans and rice, Mardi Gras, and coffee with chickory.
She spent most of her skipped school days wandering the French Quarter and her school lunch money on powdered sugar covered beignets. Where else on earth can you spend the day looking in the windows of the candy shops watching black ladies in starched white aprons spoon out liquid heaven that hardens into praline paradise?
On those southern hot, humid summer nights when she couldn't sleep, the AM radio became her pillow. She would tune it to WTIX-AM and Ray Charles would lullaby her to sleep with "I Can't Stop Loving You..."
